Opportunities

Current Positions Available

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research on the placebo effect within the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. The successful candidate will join a team led by Dr Ben Colagiuri with internal collaborators including Professor Louise Sharpe and Dr Evan Livesey as well as international collaborators including Associate Professor Luana Colloca, Univeristy of Maryland and Professor Andrew Geers, Toledo University. Current active projects in our laboratory involve investigations of the mechanisms of placebo and nocebo effects for pain, nausea, and sleep. However, there will opportunities to develop and implement new research projects investigating the placebo effect and related phenomena. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to advancing research on the placebo effect via one or more high level skills in the areas of developing novel experimental models, knowledge of associative learning, neuroscience (e.g. EEG, fMRI, TMS), psychophysiology (e.g. ECG, GSR, EEG), or psychopharmacology (e.g. oxytocin, vasopressin).
